Second Daughter supports seniors who are living independently but finding it more difficult to stay on top of everyday life activities without assistance. For families – especially those at a distance or balancing demanding schedules – we are here to reduce stress by helping your loved one get the “stuff” of life done with integrity, patience and good humor.

We provide services focused on maintaining a safe and comfortable home environment, getting errands done, scheduling and driving to appointments and events, and ensuring individuals are able to participate in the things in life that keep them healthy and engaged.

Second Daughter is not a home health care agency. We do not provide in-home medical or nursing support. If home health care is more suitable for your circumstances, we are happy to offer referrals to organizations we trust.

We are located in Falls Church, Virginia and available to serve families in Falls Church, McLean, Tyson's, Vienna and Arlington.​​

Household
Management
Keeping the home environment safe and inviting is important to everyone's quality of life. Let Second Daughter schedule and supervise maintenance calls, landscapers and cleaning services. As we build relationships with our clients, we can also gently recommend adaptive changes as needed (e.g., installing grab bars, reconfiguring household items for accessibility) with comfort and safety front of mind.
We also help with paperwork management, decluttering and downsizing.
Errands, Appointments
& Outings
Getting places gets trickier as we get older. Second Daughter provides safe, reliable transportation to get you where you want to go without the uncertainty of public transit or challenges of dealing with Uber or Lyft.

Whether it is a medical appointment, the hair salon, grocery shopping, or a social event, we will pick you up and get you there safely and reliably.

As desired, we can schedule and track medical and personal appointments to make sure you don't miss anything. Need to travel or book a restaurant and find reservation apps cumbersome? We can help with that and more.
Companionship & Connection
Personal hobbies and social connections are part of what makes life meaningful. Getting older should not mean losing access to the activities that bring you joy.

Second Daughter is here to learn what matters to you and help you continue pursuing your hobbies, interests, friendships, and community connections in the ways that feel right to you.
Sometimes that means an ice cream cone at Jeni's. Sometimes it means spreading fresh garden soil so your spring planter boxes are ready to go. Whether it's choir practice, a book club, a museum exhibit, a light hike, or simply sitting at home over coffee and conversation, we work to make those moments happen.
